1. Where can I buy a TESNIC turbine?

A: For the moment the TESNIC turbine is not yet available for general purchasing. We are currently in the pre-commercial phase which we aim to complete in the following years. Hopefully by the fall of 2009 you will have the possibility to order a TESNIC turbine. 2. How much will it cost?

A: As mentioned, by the end of our pre-commercial phase we will be able to determine the final cost of a TESNIC turbine. Our objective is to offer you a “turn key” TESNIC turbine of 3.6 kW under $10,000 USD (installation included). Clearly, the costs will depend largely on the market conditions and on the demand volume.

3. How much electricity will it produce?

A: The amount of electricity produced by a TESNIC turbine depends on the average wind speed at the place where the turbine is installed. Several factors are to be considered, such as the height of the residence or the building where the turbine will be installed, the surrounding obstacles created by trees or higher neighboring buildings. Very soon we will make available for you a calculator page to help you estimate the electricity that may be produced by a TESNIC turbine based on your specific conditions.

4. How much CO2 will it save?

A: The amount of saved CO2 depends on 2 factors: i) on how much electricity the TESNIC turbine will produce and ii) on how your power utility produces your current electricity. Very soon we will make available for you a calculator page to help you estimate the CO2 that may be saved by a TESNIC turbine based on your specific conditions.

5. What is the life expectancy of the TESNIC turbine?

A: The TESNIC turbine is conceived and built to last very long, more than 25 years.

6. What type of maintenance is required?

A: We estimate that a minimal twice a year clean-up and check-up will suffice to preserve your turbine in optimal running conditions for a very long time.

7. Can the TESNIC turbine be scaled up to MegaWatts size?

A: Yes. The TESNIC turbine can be scaled up to MW size, however for the first phase of the company development we intend to focus our efforts on the small wind turbine residential and commercial market.
